Jean A. DePasquale

Jean A. (McCartney) DePasquale, 85, longtime resident of Clay, passed away on Thursday, November 20, 2025. Born in Syracuse, to the late Arthur V. and Helen A. (Restuccia) McCartney, she graduated from Syracuse’s Central High School in 1958. Jean was a faithful communicant of Sacred Heart Church of Cicero and rarely missed a weekend Mass or any of the Holy Days. She was an amazing 45-year survivor of Breast Cancer, and her faith was so important to her. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Many beloved friendships were created with her Boxford Road neighbors and they became like extended family. Jean loved to travel, especially her trips all over Europe were most cherished. She would also never turn down a trip to the Casino! She was known for her quick wit, keen eye to detail and an always immaculately clean home. Jean was proud of her six grandchildren and loved being a grandma or “Mimi”, as they called her. She was always there to lend a helping hand and watch over her beloved grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Jean was predeceased by her husband of 51 years, John A. DePasquale, on June 19th, 2011; her brother, John (Mary) McCartney; her brothers-in-law, Leonard (Beverly) DePasquale, Robert (Lorraine) DePasquale, William DePasquale, Anthony DePasquale, and Robert Petrocchi. Surviving are her children, Linda Marie (Daniel) Rodriguez, Lisa (Scott) Roe, and John M. (Kathleen) DePasquale; six grandchildren, Jesse Rodriguez, Michael (Sarah) Rodriguez, Kristin (Ryan) Meester, Kelli Roe, Madeline DePasquale and Katie DePasquale; a great grandson, Leo Rodriguez; siblings-in-law, Beverly Petrocchi, Joseph (Caroline) DePasquale, Pauline DePasquale and Barbara DePasquale; and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the staff of Elderwood for the care provided to Jean over her extended stay. Sunday, November 23, 2025, calling hours will be from 2:00 to 4:00 pm at Fergerson Funeral Home, 215 South Main Street, North Syracuse. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9:30 am on Monday, November 24th at Sacred Heart Church of Cicero, 8229 Brewerton Road, Cicero. Burial will follow in North Syracuse Cemetery. Donations may be made, in lieu of flowers, to the Food Pantry of Divine Mercy, 592 South Main Street, Central Square, NY 13036 or to the Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Disorders Association, CNY Chapter, 5015 Campuswood Drive, Suite 102, East Syracuse, NY 13057.
