David L. Arnold, 81, of North Syracuse, passed away on Thursday, April 22, 2021. He spent his early years in DeRuyter and lived most of his life in the Onondaga County area. He was a member of King of Kings Lutheran Church and the United Auto Workers, Local 1826 of Syracuse. He began his working life with Stickley in Fayetteville. In 2005, he retired from Oberdorfer Aluminum Foundry as a class A millwright after 30+ years. He enjoyed mowing the many acres of land and endless snow blowing at his Palermo home. Mr. Arnold was predeceased by his parents, Charles Delmar and Maybel Dorothia Richardson Arnold; his sister, Diane Arnold; his brothers, Jack and Lynn Arnold, as well as his wife of 43 years, Marsan E. Rourke Arnold. Surviving are his children, Carl A. (Susan) Bastedo, Roy (Karen) Arnold, Justin "Jay" Arnold, Jeffery (Dierdre) Bastedo, Wade (Christine) Arnold, Cynthia (John) Trait and David W. (Linda) Arnold; brothers, Brian (Flo) Arnold and Bruce (Janet) Arnold; sixteen grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Private services with burial in White Chapel Memory Garden will be in June. Donations, in lieu of flowers, may be made to the Centers at St Camillus, 813 Fay Rd, Syracuse NY 13219.
